TRAIN SIGNAL - VMware vSphere 5 Training is now available [VIRTUALIZATION TRAINING]

I plan to get a couple of posts up here regarding my current efforts to complete all of my Hyper-V certifications (I recently passed 70-669 and I’ll blog about that at some point) but I am hoping to get to VMWare shortly after as that is what is in use at my current employer, Bloomberg LP.

I wanted to finish up Hyper-V as I have more experience with it before I moved over to make an attempt at the VCP certification (if you are a VCP4 you only have until February 29, 2012 to upgrade to VCP5 without having to take a VMware Education course all over again; if you pass that date you’re effectively starting from scratch. I’ll get to all of that in a moment.)

I’ve always had great success LEARNING ABOUT THE PRODUCT by getting hands on exposure and filling in the gaps with good training and Train Signal is always my first stop. If they don’t have what I am looking for I may go elsewhere if I feel I am going to need it but I always lean on them first and I have done so since my first purchase back in 2002 / 2003 when I purchased their “Configuring an Internet Gateway using ISA Server, NAT and ICS for Green Lizard Books, INC” training (Mega Lab 7). That was part one of their three part training kit for Windows 2000 / 2003 Routing and Remote Access series.

David Davis holds the following certifications; vExpert, VCP, VCAP-DCA, CCIE. He is a vSphere Video Training Author at TrainSignal.com and he along with Elias Khnaser, VMware vExpert, have put together the newest release in the VMWare training arsenal at TrainSignal - VMware vSphere 5 Training

The training source is 16 hours in total material over 36 lessons and it covers the installation, configuration, and management of vSphere as well as the new features of vSphere 5. Some of the subjects and material as outlined are:

Elias and David’s content includes numerous lessons on new vSphere 5 features as well as all the tips and tricks you need to administer vSphere 5 effectively. Additionally they cover topics like Installing ESXi 5, Virtual Infrastructure Storage, Connecting vSphere to a Free OpenFiler iSCSI SAN, Administering vSphere Security, VMHA, DRS, Fault Tolerance, Storage IO Control, VMware Data Recovery (new version 2), and well as many other topics.

If you should decide that you want to review additional information on the course you can do it right on their website on the VMware vSphere 5 Training page.
