Security+ certification class slated for December [SECURITY+ CERTIFICATION]

Hi gang.

This post will only be worthwhile I suppose to the folks in Connecticut and perhaps the general vicinity surrounding. I have teamed up with Wallingford Computer Center to announce classes we are putting together for the fall.

Working in conjunction with Wallingford Computer Center I am going to be instructing a Security+ certification class.

This is a 40 hour class / workshop that will be held over five dates focused on the body of knowledge required to pass the CompTIA Security+ certification exam (2008 Edition).

The table below lists the domain areas measured by this examination and the approximate extent to which they are represented in the examination:

The CompTIA Security+ (2008 Edition) Certification is a vendor neutral credential. The Security+ exam is an internationally recognized validation of foundation-level security skills and knowledge, and is used by organizations and security professionals around the globe.

The skills and knowledge measured by this examination are derived from an industry-wide Job Task Analysis (JTA) and were validated through a global survey in Q4, 2007. The results of this survey were used to validate the content of the domains and objectives and the overall domain weightings, ensuring the relative importance of the content.

The CompTIA Security+ (2008 Edition) Certification is aimed at an IT security professional who has:

• A minimum of 2 years experience in network administration with a focus on security
• Day to day technical information security experience
• Broad knowledge of security concerns and implementation including the topics in the domains of study for the exam as outlined above

The cost for the five day class is $1,200.00 and includes the text book for the class.

The dates for the class are currently planned as follows:

Saturday 12/04 8:00AM to 5:00PM
Saturday 12/11 8:00AM to 5:00PM
Saturday 12/18 8:00AM to 5:00PM
